At the moment he is under arrest in the Silivri prison.

Taken into custody on 8 November 2009, 20 days after 19 October 2009, when the Police busted the Aydınlık magazine and Ulusal Kanal main office in İstanbul after the Aydınlık magazine published the phone calls between Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mehmet Ali Talat, the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

Arrested on 9 Kasım 2009.

At the moment under arrest in the Silivri prison.

The trial is going on.

With the court hearing of 30 March 2010 of the Diyarbakır 4th high criminal court, 3 years of jail sentence was given with the motivation of "propaganda for the terrorist organization PKK" present in two news of the 11-12 Agust 2007 numbers of Azadiya Welat newspaper. With the court hearing of 13 May 2010 of the Diyarbakır 5th high criminal court, 1 year and 6 months of jail sentence was given with the motivation of propaganda for a terrorist organization 103 times in publications between August 2006 and June 2008. Furthermore with the allegation of "committing a crime without being a member of an organization" he took 12 years of jail sentence. In the case which requested him to 525 years of prison, he was condemned to 166 years and 6 months.

With the other cases of the 4th high criminal court, the total of jail sentence reached 169 years and 6 months.

He is now detainee in the D type prison of Diyarbakır.

Taken into custody towards the morning of 28 August 2009 after a raid in her house.

She is detained in the Bakırköy Women and Children House of Detention.

She suffers of continuous sickness that need to be cured. She complained the postponement of her check-ups, indispensable given her wealth problems.

Her criminal charges was announced on May 2010

After having been detained for 12 months she went to the court for the first time on 26 August 2010.

After having stated in her defence that she is a journalist and a translator, Suzan Zengin specified that she neither knew the other 4 young people accused in the case, nor they knew her. She stated that "there is neither witness nor evidence that can testify that I know these people or that I am linked to the activity the criminal charges are about. It is understood that the police and the advocates stated that I am member of an outlaw organization even without being able to demonstrate a link with these people and their activities. Their proves are the calls I made from the phone of the newspaper office, the majority of which directed to trade union's sources.”

Suzan Zengin stated that her wealth problems, like osteoporosis and ulcer, are growing because she cannot have cures while being detained.

She requested the discharge of the organization membership allegation, which she refuse.

The court refused her discharge request. The court hearing was postponed to 15 February 2011.

Taken into custody on 28 March 2009 in İzmir.

Arrested on 29 March 2009.

Sentenced to 10 years and 10 months of jail in the Ankara 11th high criminal court with the charges of “being the leader of an outlaw organization” and “doing propaganda for an outlaw organization”.

He is now in the Sincan F Type Prison.

Taken into custody during an operation against the PKK in different cities on 14 April 2009.

The Diyarbakır office of the attorney general announced that the operation started from a year of technical chasing of 8 members of the "Turkey coordination unity" of the PKK, through phone calls and bank accounts.

After the Diyarbakır 6th high criminal court decided for search and confiscation, the police searched Gün TV office.

He is now under arrest in the Diyarbakır D type prison.

Taken into custody on 7 December 2009 in Adana's Radyo Dünya offices.

Arrested on 11 December 2009 with the allegation of being a member of an outlaw organization.

Under arrest in the Adana Kürkçüler prison.

Hakkındaki dava 4 Şubat 2010’da sonuçlandı. “Yasa dışı örgüt propagandası yaptığı” iddiasıyla, TMK 7/2’den 10 ay hapis cezası aldı.

The trial concluded on 4 February 2010. He took 10 years of jail sentence according to the TMK 7/2 article with the allegation of propaganda for an outlaw organization.

27.

Taken into custody on 7 December 2009.

11 Aralık 2009’da “yasa dışı örgüt üyesi” olduğu iddiasıyla tutuklandı.

Arrested on 11 December 2009 with the allegation of being a member of an outlaw organization.

He is now under arrest in the Adana Kürçükler prison.

Taken into custody on 7 December 2009.

Arrested on 11 Aralık 2009.

According to the article TMK 7/2, he was given 2 years of jail sentence wih the allegation of propaganda for an outlaw organization.

He is now under arrest in the Adana Kürçükler prison.

Taken into custody after a search in his house in Mardin on 12 January 2010 and arrested with the allegation of propaganda for an outlaw organization.

Atılım newspaper Istanbul correspondent

First taken into custody, then arrested on 15 January 2010 in Antakya with the motivation of a definitive trial.

He is iunder arrest n the Antakya F type prison.

31.   

Sabri Adanır,
Gündem newspaper Cizre representative, newspaper distributor

 

Arrested in 2006 with the charge of helping and concealing for an outlaw organization.

After having been under arrest for more than 3 years, on 1st Febrary 2010 has been jail sentenced to 6 years and 3 months by the Diyarbakır high criminal court.

The sentenceis not definitive. He is now under arrest.

32.

Taken into custody on 31 January 2010 in the "Revolutionary Headquarter" investigation.

Arrested on 7 February 2010 with the charge of being a member of the Maoist Communist Party.

As evidence of the crime it has been decided to use the archives of of the magazine found in his residence and the letters sent from the prison to the magazine.

He is under arrest in the Edirne F type prison.

DİHA Diyarbakır correspondent

Taken into cusotdy in Diyarbakır on 17 February 2010 and brought to Ağrı in the occasion of an investigation of the Ağrı public prosecution office.

Arrested on 19 February 2010 for "organization's propaganda" for his calls with the workers at the BDP geeral headquarters and his partecipation to Roj TV.

He is now under arrest in the Ağrı prison.

34.   

Gurbet Çakar,
Rengê Hêvîya Jinê magazine (Kadının Umudunun Rengi), responsible desk editor 

Arrested on 20 March 2010 for "propaganda of an outlaw organization" by the Diyarbakır public prosecution office when she went to testify in the investigation opened for some articles appeared in the last number of the only magazine for women in Turkish and Kurdish.

The Diyarbakır 6th high criminal court prosecutor wanted a 20 years jail sentence for the desk editor Çakar for the news, the articlesand the pictures published in the magazine.

The prosecutor, after having claimed that "...despite the investigation about the 2nd and the 4th numbers of the magazine, Çakar carried on doing propaganda without changing its publishing policy and behaving like the news agency of the PKK", demanded Çakar to be punished.

The court, after having refused Çakar's demand of release, postponed the court hearing on 30 December 2010 for the prepartion of the defense.  

She is under arrest in the Diyarbakır E type prison.

Arrested on 14 June 2010 with the claim he was part of the "Union of the Kurdistan Peoples/Parliament of Turkey (KCK/TM)"

He is now under arrest in the Bitlis E type prison.

Mahmut Güleycan,
Özgür Halk magazine worker

Taken into custody in Van on 17 June 2010. Arrested on 19 June 2010 with the claim of "propaganda of an outlaw organization" for the magazine Özgür Halk found in his house.

He is under arrest in the Van F type prison. (19 Temmuz 2010)

37.   

Ozan Kılınç,
Azadiya Welat newspaper, former desk editor

Because of the news reported on the no. 12 of June of the Kurdish Azadiya Welat newspaper, the former desk editor Ozan Kılınç was given a total of 21 years and 3 months of jail sentence. Showing the news appeared on the magazine as the motivation, the Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court gave a jail sentence of 6 years and 3 months with the allegation of "commission of a crime in the name of an organization without being a member of it", plus a total of 15 years for "organization propaganda" (1 year and 3 months for every magazine number).

On the morning of 22 July 2010 the police took under custody Kılınç in his house in Kayapınar region near Diyarbakır. He was arrested after having been identified by the court.  

He is now in the Dİyarbakır D Type prison.

Arrested on 27 May 2010 with the allegation of "mwembership of a terrorist organization" and "propaganda for a terrorist organization".

He is now under arrest in the Malatya E type prison.

Erdal Güler,
Devrimci Demokrasi newspaper owner and former general editor

 

Arrested on 26 December 2007 after having been taken under custody.

Punished with 21 months of prison by the Istanbul 11th High Criminal Court and a fine of 60 thousand Turkish Lira.

He is now sentenced in Amasya E type prison

It has to be released on 11 December 2009 but his sentence was prolongued due to his other final sentences.

The attorney general's office let know that with the thousands of lira of fines being converted to jail sentence, Güler will be released on 6 September 2014.

A the sonest he will be released just on 1 November 2012

Arested on 12 January 2010.

He is jail sentenced for 4 years and 5 months. He is moreover on trial for other 67 yars of jail sentence. He is now sentenced in the Diyarbakır D type prison.

Abdulbesir Yapıcı,
Azadiya Welat newspaper Şanlıurfa worker

Arrested on 24 January 2010 for a defined 6 months jail sentence by the Izmir 8th High Criminal Court.

He is sentenced in the Şanlıurfa E type prison.

The trial started in 2007 in the Izmir 8th High Criminal Court with the charge of "attempt of propaganda for a terrorist organzation" for materials appeared on 177 numbers of Güncel and Azadiya Welat newspapers collected after the Nevruz meeting of Aydın.

The trial concluded in September 2008.

As evidence the court showed the 177 numbers of Güncel and Azadiya Welat newspapers, possible to be found in every newspaper seller.

The court reduced the sentence to 1 year and 6 months, having valued his arrest while distributing the newspapers as an "attempt to crime", however the execution of the sentence was not postponed.

Taken under custody on 21 September 2010 during the operation against the Devrimci Karargah organization.

Arrested on 25 September 2010.

RED chief editor Hakan Gülseven declared that Hakan Soytemiz situation is given by his writings about development of the 'congregation' internal to the state.
